Deceleration lane

About 300 meters before the deceleration lane, turn on your vehicle’s right blinker to signal to drivers behind you that you want to leave the highway.
Once you are in the deceleration lane, you may reduce speed, so not before you are in the deceleration lane. (This question often comes up at the CBR.)
How to proceed if it is a combined acceleration/deceleration lane, that has already been covered in the acceleration lane section.
