Bus

To be classified as a bus, it must be a “motor vehicle”. A tram is also equipped for the transport of more than 8 people. However, a tram is not seen as a motor vehicle, because it is moved along rails, so a tram cannot be a bus.

Within built-up areas, drivers must give drivers of a bus the opportunity to drive away from a bus stop when the driver of that bus indicates his intention to drive away by giving a sign with his direction indicator. A military convoy does not have to give the opportunity to drive away to a bus that wants to leave a bus stop.

The maximum speed in built-up areas for buses is 50 kilometers per hour.
The maximum speed outside built-up areas for buses is 80 kilometers per hour.
The maximum speed on an autoweg for buses is 80 kilometers per hour.
The maximum speed on a motorway for buses is 80 kilometers per hour.
The maximum speed on an autoweg or motorway for T100 buses is 100 kilometer per hour.
