Sign J1 – Poor road surface.
This sign has been placed to indicate a poor road surface. The placement of this sign is actually only acceptable for a short period of time. It goes without saying that the road surface must be improved as soon as possible so that the installation of the sign becomes unnecessary. However, this is often not the case. There are roads where warnings about poor road surfaces have been issued for many years in a row.
An undersign can be used to indicate the length of the road with a poor road surface.
The sign is not used to warn of rutting. For rutting, sign J37 is used in combination with a bottom sign on which the text “rutting” is stated.
Look far ahead and scan the road surface. This allows you to make timely adjustments to avoid any potholes, bumps and bumps in the road surface. This means you still maintain a reasonably straight driving line.
Sign J2 – Bend to the right.
It’s crucial to adjust your speed before the bend, especially if it’s challenging to take at your current speed. This precaution can significantly reduce the risk of accidents.
Always be vigilant about other traffic, as they may not adjust their speed. This awareness can help you anticipate potential hazards and react accordingly, preventing dangerous situations.
If you enter a right turn at a too high speed, centrifugal force will push you to the outside of the turn. You can then fly out of the bend or cause a head-on collision.
Try to discover the course of the bend in time. Look around the bend and see where the bend ends. You can often see the curve course from a row of trees or lampposts. You often have to deal with an unclear bend.
The following applies to every bend: Enter slowly and exit quickly. If you enter a corner too quickly, you may never get out!
Take into account vehicles that can lose their load in a bend. Sometimes, vehicles are stationary with a breakdown or have stopped to clear their loads.
This sign warns of a sharp turn to the left. The bend is usually challenging to take at the current speed, so reduce your speed.
Pay close attention to other traffic; they may not adjust their speed, which can result in dangerous situations. Oncoming traffic that takes the bend too wide and/or ends too wide may end up on your side of the road.
If you enter a left turn at too high a speed, centrifugal force will push you to the outside of the turn. You can then fly out of the bend.
