Shark teeth markings indicate that priority must be given to drivers on the intersecting road. If you see shark teeth markings on the carriageway, but there are no approaching drivers on the intersecting road, there is no obligation to stop for the shark markings.

Shark teeth markings are often displayed in combination with sign B6. There are also situations where you have to yield the right of way, but sign B6 is often not placed. These include

on unpaved roads, because drivers on an unpaved road must give way to drivers on a paved road.
at exits, because drivers performing a special maneuver, including entering a road from an exit, must give way to other traffic.
at intersections of bicycle or bicycle/moped paths between them, because priority here can be regulated by means of the shark teeth markings on the road surface.
on flowing motorway and motorway junctions, because merging from the merging lane onto the main road and changing lanes are considered special maneuvers, i.e. giving way to other traffic.
on cycle paths, cycle/moped paths and parallel roads, if the presence of the sign B6 could cause confusion for other drivers. Right of way is then regulated by means of shark teeth markings on the path or parallel road. On roundabouts, you regularly come across this.
