Cycle lane

In the image above, do you see a picture of a bicycle on the lane? No! Then it is not a bicycle lane, but a suggestion lane. The white car may then simply park there.

Only bicycles, snorfietsen, and vehicles for disabled persons drive on a bicycle lane. Moped riders do not ride on a bicycle lane, unless it is necessary to change lanes, swerve or overtake. For normal driving, moped riders use the carriageway.

If there are no images of a bicycle on the lane, the lane is not a bicycle lane, but a suggestion lane. Any vehicle may use a suggestion lane.

Stopping and parking on or next to a bicycle lane is not allowed.

Lining up on a bicycle lane is permitted. However, the bicycle lane must have a broken line. If there is a solid line along the bicycle lane, this bicycle lane may not be used by vehicles other than bicycles, snorfietsen, and vehicles for disabled persons.

Article 1 of the RVV:

bicycle lane: part of the carriageway marked by solid or broken lines on which images of a bicycle are displayed.
