Erven (home zones) and exits

If you want to enter a entry from a road or enter the road from an exit, you have to give way to all other traffic.
There is no definition of an entry or exit in the law.

An entry or exit exists if it is a driveway of a building or, for example, a farm.
Also, a entry or exit occurs when the pavement or curb extends.

Leaving a erf (home zone) is not the same as leaving a exit under the law. It constitutes an priority uncontrolled junction with the intersecting road. Drivers exiting the erf simply have the right of way over drivers approaching them from the left.
Often a exit construction is constructed at the end of the erf, but certainly not always.

The blue car leaves a erf with an exit construction and has to let every road user go first.
